Easy CSV Importer
ECI’s Purpose
Easy CSV Importer for WordPress extracts data from any csv file including affiliate datafeeds, inserts it into a new database table then creates posts exactly how you want them to be. It even has a sidebar widget for maximum the use of your data. WordPress CSV Import projects has never been so professional until ECI!
You can pre-configure all the same settings as provided in WordPress. Select speed, random publish date, import data from one blog to another, update old data plus the connected posts/pages, install on multiple blogs but use one blog as a control point for all and much more plus more coming every week.
Make Money With Affiliate Datafeeds
Data is free, it is massive, it is easy to obtain and it will make you money…lots of it! Download 500,000 rows of product data and Easy CSV Importer will use every record to make a new product page with super high SEO results. We recommend the All In One SEO plugin for the best performance ever. Google Affiliate Network, Commission Junction, Trade Trouble and other affiliate networks are accepted by my datafeed import plugin. ECI has functions to automate the use of newly provided files, automatically downloaded by ftp or done manually. The plugin has the ability to select individual category columns or Trade Doublers approach with a single column holding all categories.
My goal is to reduce administration and setup time more than any other plugin while still providing the most advance affiliate datafeed import plugin available on WordPress. Best of all there is no monthly fee like you will with services such as DatafeedR.

CSV Preperation Not Required
About 99% of csv files are ready to go, that’s what makes it so much fun and easy to make money. You don’t need to prepare your title names or csv column order as all properly formatted csv files will be accepted as they are, that is just the start. ECI is a management tool for those planning on creating endless self growing blogs. You can manage campaigns on one blog from a central blog without any complicated setup, I call this Blog 2 Blog.
Schedule Post Creation
ECI makes it easy to import data slowly and create posts or pages over long periods of time, weeks or even years. There is a time delay setting to prevent posts being created to close together and creation is triggered by hits to your pages. The result is post with random publish times and dates. You also have the option of using dates from your data to use as the official publish date. This is commonly used on blogs covering events of some sort and ECI caters for it well.
ZIP File Download & Extraction
The best csv importer plugin for WordPress has to be able to automate as much as possible. I’ve made it so that you can schedule constant downloads from your affiliate services and the plugin will unzip the compressed files. Easy CSV Importer will then use the new csv file data without you having to interact. This is a complex system because it also requires the plugin to be smart about what it does with new data already used in the blog, but that is just another one of the things it “can” do!
Update Old Posts
Unlike other similiar plugins or services, there is no monthly fee to keep your data updated. The great thing about affiliate networks is that they prepare the data for you and then deliver it. The great thing about Easy CSV Importer is that it loves new data and will apply it to old posts. I’ve setup the ability for users to apply a “Unique Reference” between imported data (new or old) and existing posts. Something like a product ID is perfect but if you don’t have one you can use my unique 3 column system to create your own Unique Reference. ECI can even extract zip or rar file contents by schedule.
100% SEO Posts
The WYSIWYG editor in WordPress has been integrated with my plugin to provide the ultimate template creator. Using special tokens which represent your data columns you can string together complex and unique values for both your post titles plus content. You can do it on the html level and insert your product title into links for that important accessibility plus usability “Title”. Do it with images and anything else you can think of, get your template right and your SEO will be outstanding.
Tutorial Videos
I offer a wide range of tutorial videos currently hosted on BlipTV. There are currently more than 10 videos and more on the way as the plugins functions improve. I’m also open to creating tutorials just for you with examples of how to use your own csv file, please send requests to ryan@webtechglobal.co.uk. Hi Ryan,
This product looks great, but have a couple of questions.
It says there is an export function – does this work to export all fields from WP in the same format that it is then sent back into WP, so very easy to update all info?
Does it work with WP carts, such as WP-ecommerce (getshopped), custom fields, custom post types, custom taxonomies, etc in WP3.0 ?
I assume from the info above it should just pick up all custom fields and the like, but wanted to make sure.
I also assume from above that the info feeds into WP and loaded into “post templates”, so it all displays nicely and customisable against each feed, which may have different data types.
I assume that a normal “click here to import’ optoin is available – it is not all from feeds?
Is it possible to have custom XML / feed mapping – is this a feature that can be setup or does it require some custom dev? Can I use this to bring products from magento into WP?
Thanks in advance for addressing the few questions I have – looks exciting.

Hi
1. The exporter is very new, it is not a main feature or purpose right now and won’t be for another month or two. I do eventually hope to provide export ability in csv and sql format but also export a full blog database to another blog in a way that does not cause issues as you normally would when moving a blog database from one domain to another. This ability is a priority and coming soon.
2. You may setup any custom fields you need easily for any theme or other plugins such as carts.
3. There is a wysiwyg editor for post templates, using a php parser plugni you can import php also.
4. There is no feed currently or xml, only csv file importing.
5. Yes you can import any csv file.
Thank you for contacting me, I can add some of these to my new faq post when I put it all together later in the year.
Regards
Ryan
Cool – thanks Ryan.
1. We are mostly involved with flowers and with sites like http://floralgroove.com.au (which is just being set up now) the products can belong to multiple categories (eg. bouquet, gifts for her, roses, etc) at the one time. It is mentioned multiple category is coming soon, or is it already available?
2. Does the importer upload info like tags also? I plan on this being an easy way for people to navigate.
3. With the new WP3.0 custom post types, taxonomies, etc and depending on the cart they have their own database tables, is this an issue?
4. Do you recommend a cart that “plays nicely” with the importer, or doesn’t it make much difference? Especially interested at the prospect of using feeds to update items, posts, etc.
Thanks again Ryan – this looks great.
Hey
1. Multiple categorising is in there, 3 levels right now.
2. The plugin will create description and tags for you automatically. I also recommend using All In One SEO.
3. Plugins like this do not interact with carts so it depends on your cart. This plugin creates posts and puts data into that he post such as custom fields. If your cart uses data from it’s own tables then you need an importer than puts the data there. ECI can’t do that without upgrades. It is something I plan but there is just so many carts out there, I won’t do it anytime soon.
4. There are some very basic carts that work from post data only but I’ve never used one only installed them in the hunt for a good cart. I use eStore which will be the first cart intigrated with Easy CSV Importer when I get around to it.

Actually I might be persuaded to upgrade the plugin to work with eStore if it results in a sale, because it is the cart I use. However it would be 3-4 weeks before it is ready. Please consider eStore as your solution, it is a highly flexable cart which I’ve been using for months now.
Thanks Ryan – I’ll check out estore.
It looked like it didn’t do physical products, which may be a slight limitation, however I am trying to move away from more complex carts anyway – plus I really have to hang our e-commerce off of wordpress to leverage SEO.
Thanks muchly for the quick responses – I will continue to dig further
tried to purchase one unit.
something happened during payment – now it wants to send me two units
may i order just one – do i need to resend info (and cancel my first inputs) or do you have what you need to send?
thanks,

eStore does do physical products but also supports downloads. I’m sure the author Amin would upgrade it to suit any common e-commerce requirements.
I’ve never heard of a problem like that with eStore, did it cancel out while on my site or after being sent to Paypal? Possibly a temporary Paypal issue do you think?
Please try again and if still having issues let me know plus send payment directly to paypal@webtechglobal.co.uk.
