ECI: URL Cloaking

Easy CSV Importer allows you to cloak your URL’s, meaning you can hide the true destination of a link from the visitor. The cloak, is a made up URL using your own domain and information is added to that URL so that ECI can process it when clicked. Processing generally means establishing what the real destination URL is and forwarding the visitor to it.
Key Information
- ECI can auto-configure URL cloaking for you if you create an Easy Project (not an advanced). To do this it will look for specific column names such as “LINK” or “affiliateurl”. A list of column names that trigger the configuration of URL cloaking can be found below.
Easy Projects and URL Cloaking
If you are creating an “Easy Project” and you do not want URL cloaking but it is being applied. Please comment below to get immediate support. You can rename your URL column to avoid it being configured automatically. Ensure that your column does not match any of those shown below. Eventually I will create new Settings to switch support for specific features off and on.
