Starting ECI 2′s Automation
Just a quick post with some pointers on getting Easy CSV Importer 2 started when it comes to post creation or data import in a staggered fashion, what I now called Spreadout. This post and information only applies if you use a Speed Profile with the type of Spreadout.
Easy CSV Importer 2 operates in steps that the user must always take. Even for automated projects the user must always take the first step and in a way, signal when you are ready to allow a specific type of event to take place under the schedule system. By importing your first row of data and creating the first record in your projects database table, your telling the plugin that the project is ready to continue importing data from your csv file. I repeat, only on a Speed Profile of the type “spreadout” does this matter. The effect is that importing is allow when the next schedule time comes around.
Post Creation events won’t happen until you create a single post. At this precise time I’ve not settled on the best way to express this on the interface, but providing you understand what I’m explaining then there should not be any problems. There is a Create Test Post button which will allow you to create a post and in doing so your telling the plugin that your Project Configuration is complete. The plugin will then use any available data to create new posts/pages during scheduled events. It is worth mentioning that the Create Test Post button has a setting which can be increased to create more than 1 post and that using it is no different from creating posts in any other fashion other than the restricted total of posts created. It is up to the user to check those posts should they actually be testing and stop or reset a project should they find that their configuration needs changes to be made.
