ECI: WP MU with ClassiPress

I’ve running some tests on a ClassiPress installation for a Multiblog site. As promises I want to focus on compatibility, make the plugin easier by making it far more automated. Something strange happened and it had happened with another user some weeks ago.

You can visit the ClassiPress blog here, it will be open for public testing soon.

Shared Data (wp options)

It appears that at first, the sub-installed blog uses the exact same data as the main blog. It appears to check the WordPress options table and finds existing projects, causing a temporary interference with is being done on the sub-blog. Meaning if I created a project in the main blog, at first I could not create the same project using the same named CSV file in another blog. It is not recommend that you do this anyway but someone will and I need to establish how MU deals with it. It appears that on first attempt at created a project that had already been created in the main blog, MU causes ECI to state that the project already exists. The thing is the project is not listed on the Start page, so while MU is doing this check in one way, in another it is not sharing the same data otherwise it would list the project on the Start page.

I tried again and it worked, it created the project. I then went to the main blog, deleted the project there to see if it would delete the project in the sub-blog and it never. So that is not sharing data now however to trigger the initial message in Easy CSV Importer stating that a project was already created, the sub-blog had to have found the data created by the main blog. I did not expect MU to work in this manner, it seems like a temporary thing as if permissions get activated or something.

Please Feedback

I would like more information on this as part of my effort to move towards taking advantage of MU in any way possible. Overall Easy CSV Importer works in WordPress Multi-blog but it is a growing system, I need to keep an eye on it.
