ECI Version 6.4.3
This version brings much improvement to categories.
Before upgrading, please backup your site files and your database. Due to the nature of the plugin, it is very hard to predict how a later version will effect older installations i.e. existing projects especially those created using a version of the plugin many weeks or months older than the latest.

I haven’t been able to make categories work with the version of ECI. I’ve tried setting up the project several times and no luck — categories are just ignored completely. I tried the same file on an older version (a different website) and categories worked fine, so it doesn’t appear to be the file. Is anybody else having problems with categories in this release?

Version 6.4.4 will have a fix for an issue that came about in recent versions with categories. So far I seem to have fixed it so I will be releasing a new version within the next few hours.
