ECI Version 6.0.5

If anyone downloaded the most recent Beta version 6.0.4 or I sent it to you by email then this version will fix some issues especially missing post content. I’ll monitor this version, make small changes and version 6.0.6 should be a stable version and will be available soon for those of you not keen on playing with Beta versions. To be clear, this is a BETA version to download it use the second button on the download page.

Main Changes

1. I added the remove_filter function to remove eci_editpostsync and prevent that being triggered when eci_createposts is called. I know what does that mean right? Well when posts were being created the new Post to Data Sync function was making posts go blank and was also being triggered 3 times per post created using Easy CSV Importer. The remove_filter prevents this happening while the plugin is creating posts. I would still think there is a flaw in the eci_editpostsync function but I’ll fix that soon for the next version. It won’t effect anyone unless you have plugins installed that use use the “content_save_pre” filter and this will be rare.
2. New column of text fields added to the Custom Field panel on the Project Configuration page. This is a neat little feature that allows us to add a default value for our custom field. The default value is applied if you a) do not select a column or b) your selected column has a null/empty/ blank value. This can be very handy and if that was not clear enough, this allows us to apply the same value to all posts. You may need to do this for customised use in your theme or other plugins.

Other Changes

• Improved the header message that shows when no Current project exists. The same message shows on every page now and it also has the same style.
• Minor error fixed on Speed Profile page. The message displayed when saving speed profile required the old speed profile which obviously does not exist for new projects. I simply changed the message to say “your speed profile has been changed to” instead of “your speed profile has been changed from oldspeedprofile to newspeedprofile”
• Log page now has a Deactivate button and an Activate button which work properly. The log was happening when it appeared as if it was off, this is no longer the case.
• If you select Not Set for Speed Profile it would cause an error on the Import panel on Project Configuration page. Instead a message telling you that you have not selected a Speed Profile will now appear.
