We can create work just to keep you busy there is always something to be done. You can get extrae money in your pocket and create content for your portfolio that we will also endorse. Our goal is to find people who enjoy working with us so much that they aim to be part of the team. This gives you the opportunity of filling gaps or strengthening weakness in our team skill set in a way that we can’t refuse you a permanent position. However this cannot happen over night and it could take many months for us to gauge your ability enough to make a decision on your future with us.
Usual Process & Expectations
- Approximately 12 months of weekly work with us (daily not required), can be split over 4 years of study, 3 months per year. This gives us an idea of your long term ambition, how you cope with changes and the chance for you to engage in a variety of projects so we can see your abilities over the course of your studies.
- Review on how well you communicate with myself mainly (Ryan Bayne), other team members, customers and clients. Everyone in WebTechGlobal Ltd is required to provide after sale support to their own customers where your knowledge of a product allows it.
- Review on your ability to learn, understand and use information on the internet to better yourself or WebTechGlobal. There are many opportunities, niches, demands and methods in all disciplines that involve the internet or computing. We are keen to hire people or possibly make them a partner in business if they show innovation or even just the ability to take full advantage of resources.
- Review your ability to use support services or software for marketing, administration etc.
- Review your ability to drive a product, increase sales, create marketing strategies which suit the product and promote WebTechGlobal Ltd in a positive way.
Application
Simply contact us by e-mail and we’ll do our best to arrange something for you. We usually make payments using Paypal so please have an account ready if possible. It will not get serious fast, we understand you have other responsibilities and will give you the chance to refuse a project. We can then offer other projects or tasks. As we get to know you and trust your ability we can provide more tasks, possibly even full solo projects such as small website for our clients. This is obviously outsourcing and it would require you to be paid a large percentage of the fee’s charged. We will also support you where possible without it effecting what you are paid, simply to help your progress to becoming a part of the team on a long term basis.
Payment
There is no fixed fee and you will not be paid hourly generally because we cannot afford to cover your self teaching when involved in new technology or services etc. We try to offer projects that come with no deadlines, little pressure and can be done when your studies allow it. On this basis we will often simply give token payments when you hit milestones and a bonus on completion. Most projects will not be for clients, it may be for WebTechGlobal. You may be asked to do basic things such as improve accessability of forms, navigation etc. You may even be asked to simply re-write pages so they contain more keywords for better SEO. The range of tasks are endless and will all give you an insight into how attention to detail is important. When your ready for a large project we’ll be happy to offer one at an agreed price.
About Myself…The Director
My name is Ryan Bayne and I begin planning WebTechGlobal while studying at the University of Abertay in Dundee. Part of the way through my 4th year of study I was to become a father and naturally increased my plans for WebTechGlobal Ltd as it was to become by September 2009, at the same time I became a father. Obviously I had serious incentive to make things work, have an income while still continuing my ambition at the same time. It was not easy, it has not got easier and I doubt it will get easier anytime soon. I had no option but to be on Job Seekers allowance while I also done some groundwork for WebTechGlobal, nothing paid to me for for months apart from Job Seekers allowance. That is where I started really, less than £400 a month and a kid to feed. My point is to tell others in similiar situations that it can get better, you can make more money and it is worth it. I never even finished University and the years that I did do never resulted in high grades, medium grade student basically. But with the right attitude and enough effort, maybe some sacrifice…anyone can do it. I’m looking for people with the attitude to not only believe that but make it happen. I would much rather offer positions and partnership to people in my situation, young people who know todays technology well and have the energy to make WebTechGlobal Ltd strong enough to compete globally not just locally.
Start Your Portfolio
This is an important requirement to work with myself. You must be ready to start a portfolio and work on it with our help. We can provide hosting to get you started and even purchase a domain for you. You might ask why?! Well I want to see the pride you take in your work and I don’t believe there is any reason to wait. Your portfolio can be planned and a basic site begun until your ready to create something with ajax gallery effects and other common portfolio effects. You can even buy a ready made template like I often have because making your own website is not paid for especially if it is for a Content Management System such as WordPress.
