ECI: Data Functions
Video Tutorial
Key Information
- If you create an Easy Project (instead of an advanced), ECI will attempt to configure some of these data functions for you. It will only work if your CSV files column titles are one of many common variations. Any titles that are very unique will not be identified for its intended purpose.
- Only use special functions when you know what they do and need them otherwise it is more work for the plugin.
- It is easy for me to add more special functions specifically for you, please make your request by commenting below.
- You do not need to use the permalink function, that is for people with pre-made permalink structures in their data.

Easy Projects and Special Function
Each special function will be activated in a different way but in most cases it is done using one of the stated column names. This is the only way that ECI can automatically determine what to use each column of data for. It may not be 100% accurate but that is not a problem. We can make the plugin understand your CSV file with some changes to Settings and if needed leave a reply below with any custom changes you require.

Hey Ryan,
“Featured Image” is a great feature, but we need to create 2-10 images (gallery) and declare one of them as post image for each post.
It is not possible or?
Will you release an update for that?
Thanks.
Best regards
Andi.
I think it is possible, but not as a feature Easy CSV Importer provides on its own. From my knowledge of plugins that deal with galleries, there is usually a way to feed images data to a short-code or put it in a custom field that allows a plugin to use it from that point on.
I’ve just not had time to do it myself and have been relying on users knowledge to figure out just how far you can go with Easy CSV Importer. I’m going to post on my blog and ask anyone if they have done anything like this. A lot of people don’t like to admit their use of auto-blogging plugins so not sure what response I’ll get it.
Thank you for contacting me.
