Affiliate Commission Lowered To 25%

Dear Affiliates,

I’ve thought about this for weeks now and as more affiliate sales come in I feel I have no choice but to lower the commission. Currently my top selling product is Easy CSV Importer and it requires massive amounts of support. The 50% I get myself covers costs, my time developing the plugin further, trying to improve it for individuals who buy it and just general support. £25 per sale at my end is simply not enough.

Just to be clear. If I get 6 sales in a week from Easy CSV Importer, I earn £150. After doing this for 2 years, I can tell you that 3-4 of those customers will require not only tutorial support but often what I would rather call consultancy. I spend 2-3 hours a day answering general WordPress questions such as what custom fields are and how to use them etc. This is before customers even get starting with the import stage.

I’m creating a new CSV importer which will be sold for £100, not lower. That is my final decision so the commission made on that will be higher and I predict it to sell at the same rate as Easy CSV Importer. That plugin will be the ultimate CSV importer for WordPress and I will be providing better solutions for affiliates promoting it. Please be patient while it is created. I hope you understand my decision.

To sweeten this change in commission, I’m giving the new CSV importer plugin to every affiliate who gets 2 sales, for free. The new CSV importer for WordPress will be released in 2012.
